While I didn't purchase this soap through (buying it at a brick and mortar), the price is the same as at the L'Occitane store. If you buy it by the puck that is.
Buy the bowl, add S&H will probably be about the same maybe more.
As for the soap itself it is an excellent vegetable based triple milled french soap. I have mine in a Glad bowl with a lid on it. It lathers easily with badger or boar, generating plenty of lather. It provides excellent cushion for the razor and blade. I use a DE myself. And if I do my part and pay attention, I will get a BBS shave every time.
Being triple milled means that this is a hard soap unlike the glycerine soaps being sold out there. Think VDH. It also means that it will last a long time with proper usage. I face lather and do only about 5-7 swirls with a damp brush to load it onto the brush. I find that this is more than enough to lather my face for 2-3 passes for a proper shave.
I heartily recommend this to anybody new to wetshaving or been at it a long time and looking for a new soap to try. Put this on your list if you haven't and buy it when you have the chance. You won't be disappointed. |
