| It is OKAY | 2010-02-23 | 3 / 5 |
| | I bought this and it was OKAY. It did not clump too much and it was kind of hard to get off with make up remover but I used it. Would not purchase it again though. |
| Great product and don't smear! | 2010-01-31 | 5 / 5 |
| | This products goes on very good and don't smear and covers every lash completely. I love this product so much that I purchase several tubes of it when it goes on sale. |
| Great lashes! | 2010-01-30 | 5 / 5 |
| | I don't normally wear make-up so I had this little sample mascara from Victoria Secret's and it wasn't the best of quality so I finally decided to upgrade and this mascara brush looked like it would really help my lashes. Well, it definitely does! Now people can tell I'm wearing make-up and my lashes look great! |
| WOW WOW WOW | 2009-10-18 | 5 / 5 |
| OK, let me preface this by saying that 1) I have naturally long, full lashes, and 2) I have been using mascara since the 80's.
Back in the 80's, the mascaras were wonderful. We didn't have any of those stupid flexible brushes, and I could apply coats and coats of mascara without dealing with a mascara that was too watery or too gel-y. The mascaras in the 80's were a bit powdery (maybe they had talc mixed in them), and they were thicker than the mascaras of today. The only bad thing I can say about the mascaras from the 80's is that after applying a few coats, I would end up with a few flakes on my cheeks. No big deal, I just washed them off, though.
VERY upset with the mascaras that are offered today, I went on a mission to find my perfect mascara. I've tried so many of the mascaras that are offered today. WHAT is UP with those flexible brushes?? WHY would anyone want one? A flexible brush leaves you no control over your lashes. You can't comb through them to prevent clumps! I need some resistance! I need a brush that is as stiff as possible, with bristles that are as long as possible, and I need to be able to apply coat upon coat without getting clumps! THAT, girls, is the secret to getting full, lush, long, clump-free lashes! Multiple coats, and THOROUGH combing! Also, with the right mascara, and with a stiff brush, your lashes will get forced upward, kind of styling them with hair gel, and that will make them look longer!
Until today, my favorite mascaras were L'Oreal Lash Out and Rimmel Lash Maxxx, but Avon's Supershock mascara FAR exceeds the other two!
Why? First of all, I love the brush. I love how the firm, hard bristles are placed together so closely. I love how I can comb through my lashes with no resistance from the brush. That prevents clumps on my lashes. My only wish is that the bristles could be a little bit longer! I don't know why a lot of you are complaining about the brush- it's not difficult to use at all, and yes, you may get a little mascara on your eyelid due to the size of the brush, but what a small price to pay- just wash it off! I find that by applying my eyeshadow AFTER applying my mascara, this is a non-issue for me.
Secondly, I LOVE the formula!! The mascara is thick, so it goes on thickly! Watery mascaras leave you looking like you just came out of a swimming pool, and this mascara is not watery at all! I applied four coats to my lashes, and I was ASTONISHED to find that the formula did NOT flake at all, even though I was combing through lashes that had dry mascara on them!! It's even BETTER than the formulas from the 80's!
My lashes look LONG, LUSH, and FAKE! I just know that once I leave the house, people are going to ask me what mascara I'm wearing, and they're going to think that I'm wearing fake lashes!! But I'm NOT!! They're incredible-looking, and they don't look powdery; they look GLOSSY!
I can't comment on how this mascara looks on people who have naturally sparse, short lashes, but for ANYONE who already has long, thick lashes like mine, TRY THIS MASCARA and you'll never go back to anything else!!! I'm going to stock up on it, and I hope that Avon NEVER stops selling it!! This is the very first mascara I've tried from Avon, but now, I'm going to try more of their products. If this mascara is so amazing, I wonder what else they have to offer!
Once again, WOW! This mascara has FAR exceeded my expectations!!

| Best Avon Mascara in my opinion | 2009-10-18 | 5 / 5 |
| I LOVE this mascara! It not only makes my eyelashes longer but it also makes them look fuller. The unique tiny brushes separate my eyelashes wonderfully and I have clump-free eyelashes in the end. Yes, you have to curl your eyelashes first so the effect will be long-lasting & dramatic in the end. (I did eyelash perm in a salon last month so I don't have to use eyelash curler for at least 6 weeks).
Over all, I think this is the best Avon mascara I ever tried. I mean, I've tried a lot of Avon mascara (Astonishing Lengths, Simply Pretty, Jillian Dempsey for Avon Mascara, etc...you name it). The best part is, my female colleagues started to notice my curled & full eyelashes now and asked if had used eyelash enhancer or something. (^_^) |
