| I have fair-skinned, pretty flawless skin. I am in my early thirties. Having stayed out of the sun, being a non-smoker and mostly a non-drinker, I have no damage to fix. So this was too strong for me, though I will say it's a great exfoliator. Just too much for me. I prefer a gentler, daily product like Laura Mercier Face Polish or Lancome Exfoliance Confort.
However, my mom LOVES this. It's not cheap, but you get a lot of usage for the money. Ideally, for her, twice a week usage is best. It smells so nice, citrus-y and clean. She loves the feel of this, both as the scrub's being massaged in and as the warming product goes to work. My mom has thick, very oily skin with some sun damage and broken capillaries. She is not very acne-prone. She notices a huge difference with regular use on her skin. Smaller pores, smoother makeup application, less oily breakthrough. It doesn't leave her red or irrtated at all- just the opposite.
So, obviously, like almost every philosophy product, one must try it for themselves. I think this is good for "tough" skin that can take a heavy home treatment like this. It's still gentler than a peel at the dermatologist's office! |

| | This is the best peel you can get other than going out and paying for one. After using this product my skin was softer and prettier and just really nice. I didn't wear makeup for a long time, kind of fearing that it would clog my pores, but also because my skin was presentable. I had been breaking out previously and my acne medicines left my skin in a terrible shape. But after this to my surprise it was like new. |

| | So if you already have good skin, this product may not seem amazing to you so dont spend the $$$$. But if you have skin like mine you will LOVE IT! I am a 22 yr old female, my concerns with my skin is that I have had acne for a looong time, my birth control has finally taken it down a notch, but now I am left with a lot of scars that have been with me for years. They are dark red and just stay there..... I got a sample of this product and noticed how nice one treatment made my skin feel and I made the commitment to get it so maybe my skin will look normal. Its been 2 treatments in and I have to look for my acne scars!!! I have literally tried a ton of post mark treatments and scar solutions..... they do nothing, or so little that I cannot tell. I love this product, if you have uneven skin tone or acne scarring give this a try and it will do wonders. If you have sensitive use this less then they tell you and get a really good moisturizer before using this product (vitamin E oil may help). |

| This product is NOT for everyone. If you have sensitive skin or don't want to risk a massive breakout, stay away.
I've used a lot of skin products, and quite a few by philosophy as well. My skin can be problematic at times, but usually it is pretty balanced and normal- not particularly sensitive. Well, I bought and used this product due to the great reviews, and it dried my skin out and made me break out. I had flakes peeling off as well as several zits. It was close to my period so I figured that might have been responsible, and since I paid so much for the product and it got such great reviews I tried it one more time. Boy am I SORRY!!! It has been three weeks and my face is still covered in acne, with red splotches and dry patches that are taking much longer than usual to heal. My friend asked what had happened to my face and when I told her she said she had experienced something similar with this product. If you have sensitive or dry skin, definitely stay away. Everyone else should proceed with caution.
I hate to give philosophy a bad review, but my skin was great and now it is destroyed... |
